Robin started working at the Pregnancy Care Center in October of 2019 as Co-Nurse Manager. She previously worked as an OB nurse, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, homeschool mom, and in-home care giver. Although being a mom is her all time favorite job, being a nurse is a very close second. She is passionate about helping others, and she especially enjoys caring for and educating new and expectant parents.
Robin grew up in Paw Paw, IL and attended Kishwaukee College where she received her associates degree in nursing. After nursing school, she worked in Obstetrics at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Elgin for 7 years. During that time, she started teaching childbirth classes. When her first child was born, she quit working as a floor nurse to stay home with him, but continued teaching maternal child classes such as Lamaze, lactation, baby care, and infant safety. When her children reached school age, she and her husband decided to homeschool, which became her full-time job for the next 15 years. During some of those years, Robin also helped to care for a retired pastor who had Parkinson’s disease. This was a great privilege for her.
Robin currently lives in Rockford with her husband, Mike, their two children, Jameson and Ellie, and their golden doodle, Mabel. She loves playing games with her family, going out for coffee with her friends (even though she doesn’t drink coffee), hanging out at home watching movies, and pet sitting for animals of all sorts, especially Golden Retrievers. Above all, she is most fulfilled when she is using her God given gifts of service and compassion by helping someone in need.
